Ovulatory Failure (not releasing Eggs)
This is often treated with Clomid tablets. i.e. tablets taken from the 2nd to the 6th day of the menstrual cycle and monitored by scan between days 10 to 14 to count the eggs prior to release, and another day 21 progesterone test. If this is unsuccessful then injections of FSH are administered by subcutaneous injections (using a small needle just beneath the skin, usually self administered). This is also monitored with ultrasound scans to assess the number of egg follicles growing.
